This and that... part 1

Here are a couple of crafty things I have done over the last couple of weeks!

A ribbon Halloween Candy Basket and a tin planter that I glued ribbon and flowers to! (to bad you cant see the rhinestone bling in the middle of the flowers!) Simple and easy are the best!

You Know ....

Your husband is a NERD... um I mean Engineer... when he builds a himself a Hydrogen Generator for his truck! He is going to install it this weekend, I guess we will see if it actually works! The only down side to having a husband who tinkers around with building stuff and tearing stuff apart is that I have to give up space on my counters and floors and cupboards for him! WE have lots of tools and gadgets laying around. I think it is kinda cute to watch him do things like this because he reminds me of a little boy with his toys! Good Luck Hon installing it and getting it to work!

p.s. I guess a hydrogen generator produces hydrogen that is put into or over the carburator(?) in a car instead of gasoline and reduces the amount of gasoline your car uses. In theory This thing is supposed to double the gas milage of a car or truck.

Unwelcome Visitors!

At 6:00 am today I woke up and went into the kitchen to help my kids get breakfast and get them going for the day which is my typical everyday ritual! Well as I sat down to eat breakfast I noticed something crawling on the floor! It was an ant! I thought if there is one, there has to be more, and sure enough as soon as I thought that I felt something biting my toes! My toes were right in the path of some ants!!! I Looked around and saw that my floor was covered in ants from the end of the dining room to the back wall of the kitchen! I dint know how I missed seeing them before then. So I had to leave my frosted flakes soaking in milk on the table while I got up and started cleaning! Chantel got out the vacuum and began to vacuum them up while I got the ant killer and went out and sprayed the line of ants that were coming in! As I got to the ant hill I was a little freaked out that it wasn't just a single ant hill but a three foot long string of ant hills! I sprayed the hills and came back inside to help finish up with the cleaning ! After vacuuming, sweeping and mopping the floor I was able to sit down and finish my soggy frosted flakes !

I called my husband at work and told him of the unwelcome visitors that I had ,and he said he would work on that tomorrow so that I wouldn't have to worry about having any more unwelcome visitors for breakfast!

Nothing to exciting...

Nothing to exciting happening around here just babysitting nieces and nephews! They are all so cute and fun! Love them like Crazy!

Taking kids to the doc because since school has started we have all been sick! The doctors office and emergency room are loving us lately! Brock was looking a little to pathetic and Kade was worried that they were going to give him a shot! And wouldn't you know it, the minute we got home they were somehow feeling all better!?! What is it that makes kids feel really bad and then you take them to see a Dr and pay the fees and then they are all better? OY!

And all of this in between family parties to celebrate birthdays! Here Chantel is feeling the love of her uncles while Brock is enjoying the whole thing! I think he loved it a little to much silly kid!

A conversation with Kade and thoughts on what he said!

Kade: Mom is our home filled with love?

Me: Yes It Is!

Kade: Oh Good! I love you Mom!

Me: I love you too, and very much!!

Then Kade proceeds to grab my face and kiss me on the cheek.

I had some to think about it and I really wondered if our house was really full of love !?! I sure hope that my kids feel and see the love my husband and I have for them! With having teenagers in the house we get caught up in the crazyness that they bring and that they have , and I think the feeling of love finds a back burner.

Crafts

I was Sunday surfing and found a website http://www.polkadotmom.com/ I fell in love with the crafts offered on the site! For those that know me know that I LOVE purses and handbags of all kinds! I found these really cute grocery handbags and thought maybe I will have to buy myself some for Christmas! Check it out! I had fun just looking and I think I might have to get some things for Christmas gifts! (Uh.. I cant believe that I am actually starting to think about Christmas)

Ha! I have Proof...

For all of you that never see me with my husband, I have proof that I am married and have been as of today for 17 Years! After all these years we finally made it out to eat for our anniversary! We enjoyed a quiet dinner at Mi Amigos! Yeah!!!! Those of you who know our track record will agree that this is a big accomplishment! WhoHoooo! So overall today was good and I am thankful and counting my blessings!

Starting School!

Kade (My Baby) Started Early Kindergarten! He is having so much fun! He is loving being able to tell me to leave and go home ! I have had to fight back the tears when I do leave! He has already made friends and it is cute to watch one of the girls in his class follow him around! It is sooo cute!

I did have a scare yesterday when the teacher accidentally put him on the bus! When I arrived to pick him up I could not see him and I got scared! I did not know whether to laugh or cry! So I just laughed :) The bus brought him back to the school and He had never been happier because he got to ride the bus! I am not that ready to let him go on the bus just yet, but maybe next year! Maybe I wont be as attached !

I may not...

I may not post anything for a while! My Ulcerative Colitis is really thrashing me right now! Thanks to genetics !! Hope fully I will be feeling better soon and back to normal! (what ever that is? HeHe:)

More fun in the pool:)

Monday was fun for me and the kids! Amanda and I got to talk and then go swimming with the kids! Kade and Carter were having a blast; They did the Funkadilly and the whirly whirl dives into the pool! It was great to see her and the kids ! REALLY GLAD that she moved back:)

Our Friday Fun:)

After the Friday movie we invited Lightning to come over and play. The kids had fun playing in the pool. Brock and Lightning had fun seeing what kind of dives they could do and who would make the biggest splash! It was fun to see Kade go off the diving board for the First time! He got into the action and was seeing all the different ways he could dive too! Kade was cracking me up! It was cute to see him dive with his floaties and goggles on!

Just because...

After looking on the blog of Crazymamaof6, I remembered I had done a LO of Kade when he was little playing with water and mud. I had nothing better to do so I posted this lo of him!

Meet Spirit:)

This is Spirt! She maybe the newest member of our Family!
We have a wonderful opportunity to get this horse. The previous owner could not keep her, and was given back to the breeder.


The kids fell in love with her and I think Spirit fell in love with the kids. We walked away and she looked so sad that we had to go back and give her some love.



Kade was fascinated by Weatherby the baby horse. Kade got sneezed on and his shirt chewed on by this horse. It was fun to see my kids with the horses.


This is a picture of the mother getting the kids attention. There were other horses there and it was funny to see how each of them has their own personalities. There was one that knows how to get out of his corral ( he unlocked his gate while we were there), one that was making all kinds of noises so that he would get the attention, and one that was really shy.

It was a fun morning and my kids really love the idea of having a horse, But we will see what happens once the reality of it settles in!

Happenings on the Fourth!

We started out the Fourth by Brock and Kirt getting up at 5:30 am and heading out to do Scout Flags. ( A little early for me)

Then we had to be to the church by 6:30 am to make it to our stakes flag raising and breakfast. There was a ton of yummy food, like french toast, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy and I cant forget the Krispy Kream Doughnuts.

We met my sister and her fam at the Friday movie! I had never seen the movie, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, and I thought it was really cute!

We came home and stayed the rest of the day inside. I made a wooden sign that said stars and stripes, while the kids swam.

The kids stencil-painted white tee shirts for fun.

During the fireworks the kids and Kirt got on the roof and watched. Because I have a fear of heights, I stayed inside and watched fireworks on TV.

I think we had a pretty good day even though I was a little disappointed that we did not get to go to Coolidge to see the fireworks with friends. Maybe next year!!!

Warnings and Goodbyes!

DO NOT FALL ASLEEP DURING FAMILY HOME EVENING!! At our house if you fall asleep during FHE you might get embarrassing pictures taken. Brock fell asleep and we were able to get some pretty funny pics and of Elder Dargel and Elder Stoker torturing Brock!


Monday night was also Elder Dargel's last night in our area. Transfers were on Tuesday! It is fun to get to know the Elders and sad when they go! We are so blessed to be able to have them in our home!

Excuses, Excuses!!

My kids always come up with some imaginative excuses for not wanting to do their chores! Todays excuse is a good one. I never thought I would hear from my kids mouth "but MOM I have to read my Scriptures first!!!" Brock gave this excuse this morning and how could I argue with it? So I let him go read his scriptures and then he had to come do his chores! Wow! maybe I am doing something right afterall!

She did it all by herself:)

Chantel found out she "needed" a cute blanket for girls camp! They wanted it to match the cabin colors which are hot pink and black! So yesterday we went and picked out this material and she came home and cut and started sewing the material together. We have spent most of the moring working on it! (meaning chantel sewing and me overseeing and giving suggestions) The other side of the duvet is opposite of the top. I think she did an awesome job and it turned out sooo cute!

Dont look at the pictures too close you might find hints of things stuffed under the bed and notice all the dirt on the carpet!

We let the kids play in the arcade after the friday movie and we had a lot of fun! The water was a little tense since everyone just about fell in. I would have laughed all the way home if they had since I told them (many times) hands only and don't crawl under the bars and lean into the water! But kids will be kids even if they are fourteen!

Some fun things that have we have done...

Almost a week ago Amanda came in from Texas and I watched her kids while She and her family went to the temple. Carter and Kiley were so cute and fun! Carter had all the "Cars" cars lined up on the floor and then Kade and him had fun with a little race track and seeing whose car would go the fastest!

On Saturday Amanda treated me to a pedicure! It was fun to get a chance to talk. ( I Think I did most of the talking) A BIG HUG and THANK YOU Amanda:) I sure do miss you!

I am definitly going to have to go get a pedicure more often!

Well For father's day We made Kirt a breakfast of pancakes, bacon, eggs and gave him a bottle of real maple syrup.

Monday was fun when I took the kids to bookmans and they were excited to get some playstation games and music cd's that they have wanted. It was nice for me because it did not hurt my pocket book in the process!! Yeah!!!




And then last night was a mommy- daughter girls night out!! We met Jenny, Jennifer and Summer at Hobby Lobby and walked around. I could definitely get lost in that store!! Loved it and you can get a lot of really good ideas there.



We went out to Costa Vida for dinner! Yummy!

Chantel had fun with Cheyanne and her friend , and she also had fun when we made a pit stop at Bath and Body works for their 75% off sale! Too bad we were on a budget or I would have really stocked up on a few things.

I only wish I could have remembered to take pictures! I had my camera I just forgot to use it!

The next few weeks are going to be intersting with kids getting ready for scout camp and girls camp! Whoo hoo!
