Keeping busy (part 2)

Chantel has been making herself hand bags for school for about a year and I think this one is the best so far. So cute:) It is even lined with hot pink material. She is also having fun learning how to make rosettes out of fabric and ribbon.
I have been busy with wood, paint and stencils! Nothing to complicated for me. Hehe. Kade is really bored watching us do crafts; Poor kid comes in with this cars and trucks and tries to get us to play with him. ( I do for a few minutes of course) I hope Kade has the patience to let us do this and when we are done then I will for sure do something boyish with him.

keeping busy

My daughter and I tried to keep ourselves busy by doing a couple of crafts today. I made the one on the left and Chantel made the ones on the right. We had fun:)

Another Recipe....

I did not take any pictures but this recipe was a hit with my family ! I thought it was pretty good too:)

Brown Rice and Wild Rice Salad

Serves 4
Ingredients:
2/3 cup of Wild Rice
2/3 cup of Brown rice

4 tbsp extra virgin oil
2 tbsp white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
1 clove of garlic, crushed
2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped
Salt and pepper

Two Roma Tomatoes
One Cucumber diced

Instructions:
Cook the brown rice according to instructions. In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, garlic, salt and pepper and stir into the rice, while it is still warm. Set aside to cool. Once the rice is cool, stir in the parsley, basil, tomatoes and cucumber and mix well.

I served this with steamed zucchini with cheese and black beans. YUM!
